Rundu

Rundu is located around 200 km north-east of Grootfontein. The town spreads along the banks of the Okavango River, the opposite of Angola. Rundu has been the provincial capital of the Kavango Region since 1993 and is a home to a number of municipal offices, schools, hospital and banks, supermarkets and petrol stations and some loges and hotels where you can arrange a very popular river cruises from.
Rundu's character is quite different from other Namibian towns due to strong Portuguese influence from across the boarder and there is small or no legacy of the German colonial past. Town offers commanding views over the Okavango River (especially from the Kavango River Lodge), and there are great opportunities for watersports, fishing, quad biking and 4WD driving to entertain the you while in town. Rundu has a number of Internet cafes and local lodges offer free Wi-Fi access.

Kaisosi River Lodge is only a short (7 km) drive east of Rundu, in the north-eastern Namibia. Kaisosi is located on the banks of Okavango River and is convenient and comfortable stop en-route to Popa Falls, Katima Mulilo and great Victoria Falls.
