Waterberg Plateau Park is one of Namibia's national parks, located in central-northern Namibia, at the foot of Great Waterberg Plateau, 70 km east of the town of Otjiwarongo and half way between Windhoek and Etosha National Park. The Waterberg Plateau is one of the most prominent landmarks of the country, towering high above surrounding plains of eastern Namibia's Kalahari. Waterberg Plateau and around 400 km² of surrounding land were declared a Nature Reserve in 1972.
